FIRST BOOK
This is an incredible organization that puts books into the hands of disadvantaged children who otherwise would never have the opportunity to own a book!  Some of the children can't believe they can actually keep the book and don't have to return it!

What a thrill it is to get kids reading and give them the joy of having a book to call their own!

I am donating a percentage of my royalties from my new book IF YOU TAKE A MOUSE TO THE MOVIES to First Book.

SUSAN G. KOMEN BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION
Last year I wrote a book called KIDS TALK.  It was the first non-fiction book I've ever written.  I was asked by Sprint (yes, the phone people!) and Samsung, to participate in their yearly October campaign for the Susan Komen foundation.  They wanted a book for children to help them understand what their mother, aunt or someone they knew with breast cancer was going through.

I immediately said I would love to and was teamed up with Dr. Wendy Harpham, who is a mother and a cancer survivor.  David McPhail, who illustrated my book WHY A DISGUISE, did the wonderful artwork.  The book was available free only through the month of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Unfortunately, many children contract AIDS.  This foundation does wonderful work and I'm pleased to say that I donate a portion of my royalties from the IF YOU GIVE A MOUSE A COOKIE mini-book and Cassette package to them.

DOGS FOR THE DEAF rescues dogs and trains them to help their owner "hear" the doorbell, the phone, the smoke alarm, etc! I think it makes for a terrific combination of companion, pet and lifesaver for the deaf.

NORTH AMERICAN HANDICAPPED RIDERS ASSOCIATION
This is an organization that helps people with disabilities enjoy the fun of riding horses.  I want to see as many people as possible experience the joys of horseback riding.  NAHRA teams up physically and emotionally challenged people with safe, gentle horses and caring, patient volunteers.

I donate a portion of my royalties from the IF YOU GIVE A PIG A PANCAKE Mini-book and Cassette package to NAHRA.

disabled!
